It illustrates some of the most important places she visited during her life including Linlithgow Palace (where she was born) , The Royal Palace of Falkland and The Palace of Holyroodhouse. During her years of imprisonment this fine needlewoman sought solace by indulging her love of tapestry and lace making.

This sampler is a tribute to the influential founder of the Arts and Crafts movement and innovative textile and furnishing designer, William Morris. The sampler not only reflects his unique style as a designer, but also acknowledges his multi-faceted talents, by featuring excerpts from his writings and poetry. He was also founder of the Kelmscott Press, which he set up at his home, Kelmscott Manor as a medium for his writing and exquisite book design.

He was victorious against the English at Bannockburn where he won against all the odds and was later recognised by Pope John XXII as the rightful king of Scotland. His body was laid to rest in Dunfermline Abbey, but his noble heart is buried at Melrose Abbey
