This
sampler is a tribute to the famous Glasgow architect, artist and
designer Charles Rennie Mackintosh.
It reflects Mackintosh’s unique style with its mystic
overtones, elongated figures and the omnipresent rose, which was
born out of the fusion of talent and ideas of the Glasgow School
of Art and the Viennese Jugendstil movement.
It also depicts some of his splendid architectural
achievements such as The Willow Tea Room, The Hill House and the
Art Lover’s House.

The
design for this spectacle case has been inspired by a wardrobe
designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh for the
master bedroom in the Hill House, Helensburgh in 1902.
This kit is suitable for a spectacle / eyeglass case or mobile
phone case.

Pincushion

The design for
this pretty pincushion has been inspired by an embroidered
bedcover in the Hill House. It was made by Jane Younger,
sister-in-law of Walter Blackie who commissoned Charles
Rennie Mackintosh to deisgn this family home in 1902.
The kit comes complete with backing fabric and dark pink piping
cord.
