Gertrude Jekyll

1843-1933

This sampler is dedicated to the artist, gardener and craftswoman, Gertrude Jekyll. Although a very talented artist and writer, she is perhaps best known for the some 300 gardens she designed for the architect, Edwin Lutven, who designed Gertrude’s own home, Mustead Wood.  This sampler is a tribute her love of the countryside and her wonderful appreciation of colour and design.

Finished size is 30cm x 23cm (12” x 9”)
Fabric: 14 count rustico aida

Claude Monet

 1840 - 1926

This exquisite sampler features Giverny – the beautiful home and garden of the famous impressionist artist Claude Monet.  Along with its border of Nympheas (waterlilies) it lists the names of other plants from the garden- Tulipes (tulips), Coquelicots (poppies), Roses, Iris and Glycines (wisteria) and also includes the wonderful Giverny bridge.

Finished size is 30cm x 23cm (12” x 9”)
