Unconventionally, I don’t like to use a hoop. I do however hold the fabric in such a way that it’s taut. I am careful to be sure my stitching is neat and pulled evenly. However, if there is back stitch in the project I prefer to use a frame / hoop.
If I’m using a hoop I always remove it overnight and roll the piece of work. Once finished it needs a light press.

  • It is easy to stitch – especially in night light.
  • The “block” of the weave falls in line with the squares of  chart.
  • Be careful of the colour of aida project you choose. Darker colours are more of a challenge. The trick is, if you’d like to work on a dark fabric put a piece of white paper under your work and the holes will show better.
