The missionary St Mungo founded the city of Glasgow on the River Clyde in the 6th century. The coat of arms depicting a fish, bell, tree and bird tells tales from St Mungo’s life. The sampler features The City Chambers, Polick House, Provand’s Lordship, The Burell Collection, The People’s Palace, Templeton’s Carpet Factory, Finnieston’s Crane, the North Rotunda and of course the colours reflect the colours and style of architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh.
